Monday, May 10th, 2010

I came across this mobile application called portfolio manager which gives real time updates of stock indices and mutual funds in the mobile. It also lets you manage your portfolio and watch IPOs in your mobile. I have already downloaded it. One more thing I like most about this appication is the sms alert option. we can set alerts in our favourite stocks and keep us updated anytime. I have been using it for a few days and I am finding it really useful. I can check my portfolio condition and the indices of my favorite company stocks at any time even while I am away from my laptop. Some of the additional features which I found mentioned in their product website portfolio manager are:

My Portfolio: User can view his complete investment portfolio and profit/loss spread among BSE,NSE and MF

IPO Watch:It contains the list of upcoming IPO’s with their offer price, opening date and closing date.

BSE 30 / Nifty 50: In this screen user can find the listing of top 30 stocks

Profit Calculator: Provides a unique way to calculate & let the user know the profit/loss of the existing shares in his portfolio

Portfolio MIS & analysis: This section consists of following options through which user can analyze and can have track on MIS.

Stock Alert:Users can set various alerts which the application can automatically trigger once his desired criteria is met

Manage Your portfolio On the move:Users can also manage their investment portfolio anytime anywhere using this powerful tool.
The company (Maxmobility Pvt Ltd ) also provides a bulk sms service for brokers.

The one I have downloaded is the new one portfolio manager plus. You can also download it in your mobile and have a 15 days trial. Some added features in this new upgraded version are listed below:
1. New Improved UI and navigation with Charts
2. New WAP and Web version in addition to the existing ODP. The platform will be completely synchronized irrespective of the medium used by the client.
3. Host of new content added like the MCX (Commodity rates), News in addition to the existing BSE/NSE equity, MF and IPO etc.
4. Dynamic SMS Alert configurations.
5. New functionality like WatchList and Customizable Tickers
6. Advanced Ticker Settings & Branding Space

The website also has an online interface, where I can manager my portfolio online and it gets automatically synced with my mobile phone as well. The member’s area can be accessed once we download the application. You can also sign up for membership for free without downloading the application.

You can also browse the website in your mobile using the mobile webpage http://mobile.portfoliotracker.in

The trial period for me would be over by tomorrow. So, I have already resubscribed it using paypal. By using paypal, I paid only $1 per month as compared to $2 per month if paid through mobile operator.  I am sharing this information hoping that you guys might also find it useful.

Give me a compliment if you find my information helpful to you as well.

Today I found a proxy site in trying to access my myspace account and orkut account. The site name is proxylistserver. It has many features including orkut proxy, myspace proxy and gumtree proxy etc. You can see a list of proxy sites in the site. New sites are added each day in that list. Well I give a high 5 to that site as it made me mush easier to log in myspace and orkut account. I think this site can make many proxy users happy with their wide range of proxy list.

Websites as businesses

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

Turning a website into an income source is a common practice for web-developers and website owners. There are several methods for creating a website business which fall into two broad categories. A website is a useful way to expand on traditional forms of business.

1. Online Information Businesses

Some websites offer no products at all but provide free information with income coming from clicks the visitors make on advertisements (see contextual ads). There is a wide range of monetizing used on such sites and the sites themselves are actively traded and bought and sold as going concerns.

Guides have been published which explain how to create such a business. See links at bottom of page.

2. Online Retail

While most business websites serve as a shop window for brick and mortar businesses it is increasingly the case that some websites are businesses in their own right. These websites are fully self-contained businesses entities offering, for example, immediate downloads of retail software on payment of the product’s price via their shopping cart.

3. Online Services Businesses

It offers a lot of services in every field, such as, tourism, economic, politic, social welfare.

4. Auction Website

Auction websites are similar to real auctions in that a bidding process between buyer and seller occur for a fixed period of time.
