Kritidas for Kriti Das Thokchom

Filed under: personal — admin @ 8:17 pm

To start with, dad calls me inaoba, mom calls me bungo, my other relatives call me damacha or nanao, but I am more often call as Kritidas by my friends and others though I am officially Kriti Das Thokchom. I am not so big or small, again not so fair or dark, not so handsome or ugly; in fact I think I am always in the midway of almost everything. I live in a small locality called Nilakuthi in Imphal, Manipur though I presently stay in Bhopal for studying engineering. Nilakuthi in Imphal is a very nice place with favorable climate. The temperature in the whole of manipur never reaches 35 degree so far. I love my birth place pretty much.

Bhopal, which I am studying in is in the central part of the country. Once the temperature touches 46 degree and I can never forget that day. It is really very hot here in Bhopal. I love playing football. I had gone many times playing football in other collages representing our collage. I love solving puzzles and am very interested in classical mathematics. I love epics like Mahabharata, The lord of the rings etc. And I love making friends with people.

Thokchom

Filed under: personal — admin @ 8:16 pm

So, Thokchom? What is this thokchom? I heard this question a thousand times in my college life. People outside Manipur finds it very hard to accept that Thokchom is a very common manipuri surname in Manipur. Well I belong to a clan called Moirangcha with the surname Thokchom. That makes me think Thokchom is a Great family. Thats my ego actually. Who would say bad words against his own belongings, but thousands and thousands will say good word for their own belongings. Thats what I am trying to do. If you are new to this word called thokchom, learn from now that it is just a surname in a place called Manipur. And also for your information, I don’t know the real meaning of thokchom. I am writing this because I am fed up of answering what is thokchom and what does it means. In fact an interviewer have even asked me to say the meaning of Thokchom. What was I to say than “I don’t know”. And when I told him the truth, he reacted by saying I should at least know the meaning of my own surnames and names. Thats surprising for me and I am still searching for any meaning of it in any available languages in the whole of this world. Anyone can comment here if they want to help me in this small mission.

dclickads for advertiser and webmaster

Filed under: Review, website — admin @ 12:15 pm

Recently, I have been searching for the most effective advertising methods for blogs and regular sites. On my search, I found Dclickads, which is a new advertising network for both webmasters to increase advertising revenue and publishers to increase traffic and clicks. They offer the ability for websites to buy and sell text link ads, graphic banner ads, and embedded inline ads.

The thing I like about Dclickads is that it’s free to join, and it handles everything for you, like tracking and advertiser billing. Also, you can pick between PPC (Pay Per Click) or PPI (Pay Per Impression) so you can advertise for a specific time frame.

It works by incorporating “Ad Zones” which are areas on a website where the publisher has designated ad space. This is particularly good because you get to tailor it yourself. You’re not just stuck with your ad being thrown anywhere. As I previous said it works not just with graphics, but text links too, which is especially handy for bloggers.

The Thokchom family

Filed under: personal — admin @ 8:19 pm

Doesn’t this sound like a hit movie or a hit novel. Well, its not actually. I am writing here some of my personal informations off the main theme of this blog. So, from where do I start? Let me start from this -that my surname is Thokchom and this Thokchom is a big surname in the whole of Manipur. There are other big surnames too, but still, Thokchom is included among some of the biggest surnames as far as I know. The Thokchom family comes under the Moirang yek or say clan. So Thokchom people are often found refering themselves as Moirangcha- the sons of Moirang. The first person who started to put this surname in his name was a decendent of Moirang clan, and hence Moirangcha. That is the brief history of Thokchom surname.

My village Nilakuthi has a small inhabitant of Thokchom family clustered in the Nilakuthi Maning Leikai. There is an annual meet of the thokchom family in different parts of Manipur. This type of practice is also common in other surnames too. But not all Thokchoms participate in it as again there are hundreds of division in a single surname to make the meet/feast feasible. We call this Chafu Kaiba or chaphu kaiba. I had participated in some of the feast and it is really a very good step taken up by the people of Manipur as it bring together all the brothers and sisters of distant relatives on a single spot on a single day. And every surname family has a puya or holy book which contains all the sons and wifes of every person belonging to the surname. So the ancestry can be easily traced back for anyone who is a Manipuri. Our Thokchom puya contains the brief story of the life of the founder, then his sons and daughter-in-laws and so and so. The only thing which I feel unsatisfied in it is the absence of the names of daughters in the list. But still, the wifes of male members are clearly given with their respective parental surnames. I believe that everyone in Manipur can be made related to each other by compiling all the puyas of every surname in Manipur. And lastly I am proud to be in the Thokchom family or being Moirangcha.

Webmaster’s forums

Filed under: Forum, General, website — admin @ 8:54 am

I have joined digitalpoint forum and I like it. I like their system of grading everyone using reputation and itrader. The people in there seem to be all business minded. There is more business posts than general chat room post. The site has the option to let you jump to any category you want to jump. Thats makes us a lot easier to jump from one topic to another. This jumping option is not found in most of the other forums. You have to go through the main passage only, that is, you have to go for a series of bigger categories to go to the right topic you want to go, in other forums.  The thing which I like about v7n is that they have the policy of giving assignments to the bloggers. As it can bring extra money to bloggers, many people want it.  It has more recently introduced the idea of itrader. it was not there earlier. Well it makes people easier to choose who are the real good traders by looking in the itraders. And adminzone is one of the site which is quickest in tracing backlinks. You will get backlinks almost instantly whenever you post any post in theadminzone. Thats the best part. The people in that forum seem to be more helpful than any other forums I have found.

The movie Die hard

Filed under: Film, Fun — admin @ 10:21 am

After watching the movie Die Hard, I realize how close we are in great danger after confiding so much of our life and activities towards the modern digital world. I don’t think that the possibility of happening what the movie shows is impossible. I like the movie very much. It is the best of the 4 movie series of Die Hard. Bruce was great even after he is old. The action scenes were superb. The presence of Maggi Q, the Chinese actress encouraged more  audience from Asia. The way how Bruce try to take any situation in the movie was cool. Anyway the film has a whole is a great success and I hope they would come with another sequence.  The story of the movie was also very nice. The hackers look really great in the movie. The fighting scenes are no ordinary. And lastly the humour it contains whenever Bruce talks is unforgettable.

Fantasy premiere league is a very nice concept of involving everyone who like premiere league and feels that they are playing when their favorite teams and players play. It is a premiere league in which you are asked to choose your own team from a list of players who play in English premiere league. A point of 100 is given initially to everyone. Each player has a value assign to each of them according to their status. For example Rooney and Drogba has a value of 12 each. You have to choose a team of 15 players with this 100 initial virtual  money. After each week, you will get a score for each players corresponding to the performance of each players. Your total score is the sum of the individual scores. You can also change players in your team after each weekend. in this way you compete other thousands of fans by creating your own team. prizes are given to those who gets among the toppers at the end of the season. Now sign ups are going on in their official site before the start of the season. I have already been registered. I am playing C.Ronaldo as captain and Rooney as forward.
